Susan Elliot

I have worked in the field of early childhood education since 1980, starting my career at Little People’s Place. I have been the Executive Director since 1994, seeing the centre grow over the years. I have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from NSTC, as well as a certificate in Management Development for Women, from St. Mary's/Mount Saint Vincent Universities. I have over 40 years of professional development and experience in the Early Childhood field, and I have served in many provincial groups throughout the years. Most recently being the Minister's Working Group for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. I am passionate about my work and believe that childhood is precious. Growing up in a small town surrounded by the natural world, I feel connected to nature and want those experiences for all children.

If I am not in my office doing the work to run 2 large centres, you will find me walking the beaches, looking for treasures, enjoying the trails, and my time at the lake. I feel pretty lucky to have chosen this path, and as a result I feel as though I have never worked a day in my life.
